The SkinPen

The SkinPen by Bellus Medical is the only FDA cleared medical grade micro-needling device

what does skinpen treat?

- Large pore size
- Stretch Marks
- Sun damage (sun spots)
- Age and brown spots

What should i expect from my skinpen treatment?

Topical numbing cream is typically applied to the treatment area for 20 minutes before the procedure. The actual procedure typically takes 30 minutes, depending on the size and number of areas treated. While you may have some redness and swelling immediately after the procedure, there is usually minimal downtime for the patient.

- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Uneven skin tone
- Acne scarring

How does skinpen work?

The SkinPen creates thousands of precise micro-injuries or “micro-channels” in the dermis, which stimulates new collagen without causing scar tissue formation. This technology takes advantage of the skin’s natural healing process. When SkinPen makes micro-channels in the skin, the skin naturally produces new collagen and elastin in the treatment areas, leading to a fresher skin appearance.

Who can use skinpen?

The SkinPen is safe for all skin types and is safe for all ages, although we recommend the procedure for ages 15 years old or older.

  • After treatment, your skin will be pink/red similar to the appearance of a mild sunburn for 24-48 hours following SkinPen procedure.

  • To achieve optimal results: Use only Skinfuse post-care products LIFT and RESCUE provided in your SkinPen Treatment kit for the next 24 hours.

  • Make-up may be applied AFTER the 24-hour healing period.

  • Wait at least 7 days to resume using Retin-A, Tretinoin, Retinol, Triluna, Differin, Tazorac, hydroquinone, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids.

  • Do not wax, tweeze or use depilatory to the treated areas for a few days after your treatment 23 this can irritate your skin

  • Occasionally, some peeling/flaking may be present for a few days following procedure. Apply moisturizer to promote hydration. Do not pick, peel or abrade the flaking skin.

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a safe and effective form of exfoliation that takes 30 minutes and has no downtime.

How does dermaplaning work?

Dermaplaning is a safe (provided the person performing it is properly trained) and highly effective physical exfoliation procedure. It requires using a sterile, surgical scalpel to gently “shave” the skin’s surface, removing the top-most layer of dead skin. Physical exfoliation triggers the cell regeneration process and allows products to penetrate the skin, such as a light chemical peel. Dermaplaning is also excellent to rid the face of excess fine hairs, often accumulating dirt and oil.

What can dermaplaning treat?

Dermaplaning reduces the appearance of fine lines, visible acne scars, and dark spots.

What skin types can receive dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is recommended for all skin types except those with acneic skin. This is a great treatment if you are pregnant or nursing and want exfoliation without the risk of harsh chemicals absorbing into the bloodstream and potentially harming your baby.

What is a dermaplaning session like?

During the session, your esthetician will skillfully use a sterile surgical scalpel at the correct angle to remove the top layer of old, dull skin, along with all your peach fuzz.

What results can be expected from dermaplaning?

You should obtain a more healthy appearance after the first session, but the best results occur after a series of treatments. Typically a series includes six treatments, with visible improvements after two or three treatments.

IPL

What is ipl with nordlys?

The Nordlys IPL system is a state-of-the-art device that uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to address a variety of skin concerns safely and effectively. Unlike traditional lasers, Nordlys employs a range of light wavelengths, making it versatile in treating multiple skin conditions. This advanced technology allows us to target problem areas while leaving the surrounding skin untouched, providing quick and effective results with minimal discomfort.

What Can Nordlys IPL Treat?

• Skin Rejuvenation: Nordlys stimulates collagen production to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and improve skin texture, giving you a fresher, more youthful appearance.

• Sun Damage & Pigmentation: It effectively minimizes sunspots, age spots, freckles, and other pigmentation issues, restoring a clearer and more even complexion.

• Redness & Vascular Lesions: The Nordlys system reduces redness, broken capillaries, and visible blood vessels, resulting in a more even skin tone.

How Does Nordlys IPL Work?

During a Nordlys IPL session, precise pulses of light are delivered to the targeted areas. The light energy is absorbed by specific pigments, such as melanin in dark spots or hemoglobin in blood vessels, breaking them down and encouraging the skin’s natural healing process. This treatment stimulates collagen production, enhances skin tone, and reduces visible imperfections over time.

What to Expect?

Nordlys IPL is a non-invasive procedure with minimal downtime. Most sessions take about 20-30 minutes, depending on the treatment area, and patients typically experience only mild redness or sensitivity afterward, which usually fades within a few hours. Multiple sessions may be recommended for optimal results based on individual skin concerns.

Who is Nordlys IPL For?

The Nordlys IPL system is suitable for a variety of skin types and conditions, though it tends to work best on lighter to medium skin tones. A consultation with our experts will help determine if Nordlys IPL is the right choice for your specific skin needs.

FRAX

What is FRAX with Nordlys?

FRAX is a fractional laser treatment offered through the advanced Nordlys system, designed to rejuvenate and resurface the skin. Unlike traditional lasers, the FRAX laser delivers precise, microscopic columns of heat energy into the skin, stimulating natural collagen production while minimizing downtime. This targeted approach helps to improve skin texture, tone, and overall appearance, making it a popular choice for those seeking a refreshed and youthful look.

What Can FRAX Treat?

• Fine Lines & Wrinkles: FRAX stimulates collagen to smooth fine lines and reduce the appearance of deeper wrinkles, giving the skin a firmer, more youthful look.
• Acne Scars & Surgical Scars: It effectively breaks down scar tissue and encourages new skin formation, softening the appearance of both acne and surgical scars.
• Uneven Skin Texture: FRAX addresses rough or uneven skin texture by resurfacing the top layer of the skin, leaving it smoother and more refined.
• Pigmentation & Sun Damage: The fractional laser targets areas of pigmentation and sun damage, evening out skin tone and diminishing brown spots.
• Stretch Marks: FRAX can improve the texture and appearance of stretch marks by encouraging new collagen growth in the affected areas.

How Does FRAX Work?

FRAX uses fractional laser technology to create tiny, controlled injuries in the deeper layers of the skin, sparking the body’s natural healing response. These micro-injuries stimulate collagen and elastin production, leading to firmer and healthier-looking skin. The precision of FRAX allows for customized treatments based on your unique skin needs, targeting problem areas while preserving surrounding healthy skin for faster recovery.

What to Expect?

FRAX treatments are quick, typically lasting 20-30 minutes depending on the treated area. After the procedure, you may experience mild redness or swelling, similar to a mild sunburn, which usually subsides within a few days. Some clients may need multiple sessions for the best results, depending on the severity of their skin concerns.

Who is FRAX For?

FRAX is suitable for a variety of skin types and concerns, and its customizable settings make it ideal for both light and medium skin tones. Our specialists will create a personalized treatment plan to address your specific goals and skin type during your consultation.
